Robinhood Chain · a FOMO game · every 10 minutes

The last thesis takes the pot.

Hold $20 of $LAST. Post a thesis on its FOMO page. Every ten minutes the trading fees pile into one pot, and the last thesis before the candle goes out takes it. Nobody knows the exact second. Not even us.

This candle, live

Every thesis is a bid. Only the last one counts.

Theses land on the $LAST page in FOMO. Anything that breaks a rule is struck through on the spot. Once the candle is out, everything posted after the flame died goes grey.

Theses this round—
Candles gone out80% paid · 10% burned

Nobody knows when the candle goes out. That's the whole game.

The close hides somewhere inside the last minute
Anatomy of a round

Ten minutes. One pin. One flame.

00:0005:0009:0010:00THE PINCLOSE = ?
00:00

A candle is lit

The pot opens with 10% carried over from the last candle. Every trade of $LAST keeps feeding it until the flame dies.

00:00 – 09:00

Theses stack up

Holders post on the $LAST page in FOMO. The newest thesis that follows the rules holds the pot, until someone writes after it.

09:00

The pin drops

The candle zone opens. The real close is somewhere in the next sixty seconds. Posting at 9:59 is no safer than posting at 9:01.

10:00 + ~60s

The block decides

The first Robinhood Chain block after 10:00 is hashed, the close is revealed to the millisecond, and 80% of the pot goes to the winner's FOMO wallet.

The rules · policy v0

Seven rules, read by a bot every ten minutes.

The keeper reads FOMO and the chain, and nothing else. Nobody picks a winner by hand.

  1. Hold $20 of $LAST, twice. At the block of your thesis and at the block of the payout, priced by the pool's 10-minute TWAP. Buy, post, dump, and you're out.
  2. Post on the $LAST page in FOMO.That's the only place the bot reads. It pays the FOMO smart wallet that posted, in ETH, gas on us.
  3. Last before the flame dies wins.Compared by FOMO's server timestamp against the close, to the millisecond. A thesis after the close counts for nothing.
  4. Say something.Twelve characters or more. A copy of a thesis already posted this round doesn't count.
  5. Winners sit out three candles.Thirty minutes on the bench. Otherwise one bot owns every round.
  6. No thesis, no payout. The pot rolls. If nobody qualifies, or the pot is under 0.002 ETH, the whole thing moves into the next candle. Quiet hours build jackpots.
  7. Every round is published.Theses, timestamps, balances, the block hash and the payout tx. Anyone can recompute the winner.
Why a candle

Last-bidder games are old. So is the fix.

1662

The man who watched the smoke

London sold ships and naval stores "by the candle": a short stub was lit and the bidding ran until the flame died. The last bid before it went out won. No one could know the moment, so no one could snipe it. On 3 September 1662 Samuel Pepys watched a sale of old hulks at the Navy Office. The room held back while the candle burned, then shouted over each other as it guttered. One buyer kept winning. He told Pepys his trick: just before the flame goes out, the smoke comes down, so he knew the instant to bid last.

2018

The man who stuffed the blocks

Fomo3D put the last-bidder game on Ethereum. Each key extended a timer, and whoever bought the last key when it hit zero took the pot. Round one closed on 22 August 2018: the winner took 10,469 ETH, about three million dollars. He didn't win by out-bidding anyone. He filled the next blocks with his own high-gas transactions, so nobody else's purchase could land for about three minutes, and the timer ran out on him. The fix cost him an estimated $11–14K.

2026

Fomo3D, inside FOMO. The candle is a block hash nobody knows in advance, so there is no smoke to watch and no block worth stuffing. You just keep writing until it's out.

$LAST

The token is the seat at the table.

TicketNo $20 of $LAST, no seat. Every player arrives with a buy, and has to hold it through the payout.
PotThe creator fee of the $LAST pool on Pons V2 fills the pot. More volume makes a bigger pot, and a bigger pot pulls in more players, each one with a buy.
Burn10% of every pot buys $LAST off the market and burns it. That's 144 buybacks a day, and it doesn't pause when the chat goes quiet.
FeedEvery move in the game is a post on the $LAST page inside FOMO. In the candle zone the page fills up for a full minute, because the close could come at any second.

What's in a candle

Arithmetic, not a forecast. The creator fee is set at launch; drag it to whatever it ends up being.

The candle is one line of math.

Nobody can know the hash of the first block after 10:00 before that block exists. That includes the keeper. Paste any block hash to see where its flame would have died.

// round r runs [start, end), end = start + 600 000 ms
block = first RH Chain block with timestamp ≥ end
offset = uint256(block.hash) mod 60 000      // ms
close  = end − 60 000 + offset

winner = last thesis t where
         t.fomo_ts ≤ close
     and bal(t.wallet, t.block) ≥ $20
     and bal(t.wallet, payout) ≥ $20
     and len(t.text) ≥ 12, not a repeat
     and t.wallet not in winners(r−3 … r−1)

A thesis stamped at or before this moment can win. A thesis stamped after it arrived when the flame was already out.

What this is not

Read this before the candle.

The pot sits with a keeper. In v0 the pot is a wallet run by the keeper bot, not a contract. The published log lets anyone check every payout, but you are trusting a key. v1 moves the pot into a vault where the keeper only proposes a winner and the log opens a dispute window.

FOMO is a dependency. The keeper reads theses through FOMO's API. If the API is down or changes, the round is voided and the whole pot rolls into the next candle. This project is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with FOMO.

Bots will play. The candle turns a one-second sniping race into a minute of posting, and the cooldown keeps one wallet from taking every round. It doesn't stop bots from playing, and they will.

$20 is a ticket, not a deposit. The price of $LAST moves, and a ticket can be worth less than $20 at payout, which disqualifies it. Most theses win nothing. Only the last one gets paid.

Timestamps are FOMO's. Ties and ordering follow FOMO's server time. Posts that FOMO rejects or hides never reach the log.

Nothing here is yield. The pot is the fees of trading in $LAST. If trading stops, the candles keep burning over an empty pot.
